Websites for businesses based in Montpellier

Website creation in Montpellier for local businesses

I build websites for tradespeople, shop owners and independents in Montpellier, from the Écusson to Port Marianne and out to the communes of the metropolis. Each site is designed and coded for one business only, with no template and no WordPress, then hosted, backed up and maintained by me every month. The Essential plan costs €1 at the order and then €39 a month, covering hosting, daily backups, security monitoring and your text changes delivered within 48 working hours. The Visibility plan costs €1 at the order and then €79 a month, and adds four pages and four articles every month written for Google and AI search engines, plus the upkeep of your Google profile. Your site goes live less than 48 hours after the order, and the code belongs to you from day one.

01

Why does a Montpellier business need its own website?

Because in Montpellier the first contact with a new client happens on a phone screen, and a business without a site only shows up through its Google listing, if it has one at all. The city had 310,240 inhabitants in 2023 according to INSEE, and a large share of them moved here recently, with no neighbour to ask for a plumber or a physiotherapist. They type French phrases such as "plombier Montpellier" or "ostéopathe Port Marianne", look at the first three results and call the one whose site answers their questions. Without a site you don't exist for them, even after twenty years in the trade.

A Facebook page or an Instagram account doesn't do the job, because Google almost never shows them for a service search in a specific district. A site you own describes your services, the areas you cover and your opening hours in words Google understands, and it keeps working while you're on a job in Lattes or seeing patients in Antigone. Many tradespeople here postpone the project because an agency quoted them several thousand euros up front. I built my offer for them, an affordable website paid monthly, with everything that takes time already included.

You keep what matters, because the domain name is registered in your name and the code belongs to you from the first day. If you want to leave, I hand over a full export of the site within fifteen days, free, even during the commitment period. That rule protects you from rental schemes where the site vanishes with the subscription, and it forces me to stay good every month instead of holding you by contract. I explain the whole formula on my page about the website paid monthly, including cancellation terms and what each plan covers.

02

Which districts and communes around Montpellier do I cover?

I work for businesses in every district the city of Montpellier lists, which means the Centre with the Écusson, Antigone, Beaux-Arts, Boutonnet, Les Arceaux, Figuerolles and Gambetta, then Port Marianne, Prés d'Arènes, Croix d'Argent, Les Cévennes, Mosson, Hôpitaux-Facultés and Celleneuve. The communes of the metropolis get the same work, and a good share of a Montpellier tradesperson's clients actually live in Castelnau-le-Lez, Lattes, Pérols, Juvignac, Saint-Jean-de-Védas, Le Crès, Jacou, Grabels or Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone. A well built site names those communes on its pages, because clients type them into Google before they type your trade.

Building trades carry real weight in the Hérault, with 13,500 artisan building companies on the trades register according to CAPEB, close to half of all artisan businesses in the area. Plumbers, electricians, tilers, painters, masons and air conditioning installers compete for the same searches, and the site often decides between two similar quotes. Shops and services make up most of the 12,210 employer establishments INSEE counted in the city at the end of 2024, with the restaurants and boutiques of the Écusson, health professionals settled near the Hôpitaux-Facultés district, and a digital sector the metropolis promotes on its Entreprendre à Montpellier site, which also brings English speaking founders who need a French site.

Take an electrician based in Prés d'Arènes who works across the whole metropolis. His site has a home page that states his trade and his city clearly, a page for bringing installations up to code, a page for emergency repairs, and one page per commune he drives to often, say Lattes, Pérols and Saint-Jean-de-Védas. Every page shows photos of his own jobs, his hours, a call button that stays visible on a phone, and the list of districts he covers written out in full. That's the structure I describe on my page about the website for tradespeople, and it answers searches like "électricien Lattes" without any paid advertising.

For a shop or an independent in the centre the logic is the same with different pages. A restaurant in the Écusson needs a menu that reads well on a phone, exact opening hours, a booking link and directions from the Place de la Comédie, in French and in English since so many visitors search in English. A physiotherapy practice in Port Marianne needs a page per speciality, fees, how to book, and the tram lines that stop nearby. I design each site from these concrete needs, never from a template, and if you're based further east, my page for businesses in Avignon describes the same offer for the Vaucluse.

How do you get found on Google in Montpellier?

You get found when your site has one page per service and per area, when your Google listing is complete, and when both tell the same story. People in Montpellier type the trade followed by the city or district name, "coiffeur Antigone", "garage Juvignac", "climatisation Montpellier", and Google first shows a map with three businesses, then the websites. To appear on that map you need a well filled listing and a site that confirms your address, hours and services. Without the site Google has nothing to check your claims against, and it pushes you down the list.

Your Google Business Profile is the second pillar, and I treat it as seriously as the site. It needs the right category, an exact address or service area, current hours, real photos and a reply to every review, including the bad ones. On the Visibility plan I maintain it every month, post your news there and link each service to the matching page of the site. I wrote up the method in my article on local SEO for a small business, with the mistakes I see most often on listings around Montpellier.

AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews read your pages too, and they quote the ones that answer a precise question in a few clear sentences. On the Visibility plan I write four pages and four articles a month on phrases people in Montpellier actually search for, checked against volume data and never guessed. Each text gets the technical markup those engines expect and links to your other pages. You then receive a monthly report with your positions on your local phrases, so you can see what's climbing and what I'm fixing.

04

How does building your website in Montpellier work?

It starts with an hour long conversation, by video or in person if you prefer, where you tell me about your trade, your clients, the areas you cover and what you want visitors to do when they land on the site. I look at your competitors in Montpellier, note the phrases they target, and ask for your photos, any existing text and your reviews. You don't have to write anything, I draft the copy and you approve it, in French, in English, or both.

I then design the site and code it entirely, with no prebuilt page, and send you a complete first version to read through at your own pace. You send back your corrections, I apply them, and before going live the site passes a check on speed, accessibility and technical SEO. Two clients never receive the same site, so a roofer in Croix d'Argent won't get the same structure as a beauty salon in Port Marianne.

Going live usually happens less than 48 hours after the order, depending on how quickly you review. After that, every month, I handle hosting, daily backups, monitoring and fixes, and your requests for text or image changes are delivered within 48 working hours. You write to me from a job site, I publish, and you get the report at the end of the month. The full detail of both plans and what they cover is on my pricing page.

06 The price

Why this price does not lower the quality

The price comes from how the site is built and maintained, not from a sacrifice on the design or the code.

01

A site designed and coded, not a template

No purchased theme, no page builder. The layout, the copy and the code are written for your business, after research on what your competitors do and on what your customers type into Google. Two clients never receive the same site.

02

Performance and security are measured

Before going live, every site passes a check on speed, accessibility and technical SEO, and it does not ship until the score is where it should be. A fast, clean site costs less to host and maintain, and that saving is in the price.

03

Automation pays the difference

Hosting, backups, monitoring and the monthly report are automated, and I have spent sixteen years building this kind of tooling. Human time goes to the design, the copy and your change requests, not to the repetitive tasks others bill you for every month.

04

No financing, no hidden clause

You pay €1 or €1 at the order, then a monthly plan for twelve months, with no credit company and no lease contract. The first year total sits at the top of the quote, and the domain and the code stay yours, with an export of the site within 15 days on request.

07

Frequent questions about website creation in Montpellier

How much does website creation in Montpellier cost?

The Essential plan costs €1 at the order and then €39 a month, which makes €469 excluding tax for the first year. The Visibility plan costs €1 at the order and then €79 a month, or €949 excluding tax for the first year. Both include design, hosting, backups and edits, and the first year total sits at the top of every quote.

Who owns the website and the domain name?

You do, from the first day. The domain name is registered in your name and the code of the site belongs to you, so this isn't a rental. If you decide to leave, you receive a full export of the site within fifteen days, free of charge, even during the twelve month commitment, and you can host it wherever you like.

How long does website creation in Montpellier take?

Count less than 48 hours between the order and going live, depending on how fast you review the first version and send me your photos. A tradesperson's site with five to eight pages fits in that window, and a business that answers quickly can be online sooner.

What happens to my subscription after the first twelve months?

After twelve months you can cancel in any month with one month's notice, with no fees and no finance company involved. Most clients stay because hosting, backups, monitoring and edits keep going, and because the monthly report shows them what the site brings in. You keep the site if you leave.

What's the difference between Essential and Visibility for a Montpellier business?

The difference is €40 a month. Essential gives you a unique site, hosted, backed up, fixed and edited on request. Visibility adds four pages and four articles every month on verified local phrases, structured data and a positions report. For a tradesperson who wants enquiries coming from Google, Visibility is the plan that does the work for you.

Can a Montpellier shop add an online store to the site?

Yes, but it's quoted separately, on top of the plan. The same goes for a booking system, a client area or a heavy redesign. The plan covers the complete site with its service pages and contact forms, and on Essential an extra page gets a small quote. We go through this in the first conversation so the total is clear before anything starts.

08 Compare before you sign

A site coded for you, at the price of a kit site

  • 01 The code and the domain name are yours from day one, with an export of the site within 15 days
  • 02 No WordPress and no page builder, every page is designed and written for your business
  • 03 Speed, accessibility and technical SEO are measured before the site goes live

Among the French offers under 100 € a month we reviewed in August 2026, none displayed these three commitments together.
