I work with businesses in every district of Besançon, La Boucle and its historic centre, Battant on the other bank of the Doubs, Chaprais, Saint-Claude, Montrapon, Palente and Orchamps, Saint-Ferjeux, Bregille, Velotte and Planoise, the most populated district of the city. The towns of Grand Besançon Métropole are covered the same way, from Saint-Vit to Saône and from Thise to Avanne-Aveney, through École-Valentin, Miserey-Salines, Pirey, Franois, Chalezeule and Beure. A company in Planoise or in the Châteaufarine retail zone doesn't present its access the way a boutique on the Grande Rue does, where parking and the tram come up on the very first page.
The centre of Besançon lives on small shops, the Grande Rue and the rue des Granges are its main streets, and the Grande Rue lines up around a hundred shops, bookshops, cheese shops, designer boutiques, down to the Passages Pasteur. Battant is home to craft workshops, galleries and fine food shops, and the place de la Révolution holds the market twice a week. The city is also still the home of watchmaking and microtechnology, with 406 companies in the sector counted by Grand Besançon Développement. Building trades complete the picture, with tradespeople in construction and renovation based in every district and in the surrounding towns.
Take a cheese shop on the Grande Rue as an example. Its site would have a home page with the shopfront, the hours and how to arrive by tram, one page per product family, regional cheeses, platters for parties and companies, grocery items, a page explaining its stall at the place de la Révolution market with the days and hours, and a phone ordering page for platters, without a complex online shop. That structure lets the site appear for "cheese shop Besançon" and for "cheese platter Besançon" with two pages that each answer a different question.
A joiner in Saint-Claude or a heating engineer in Pirey gets a different structure, one page per service, one page per town served, Besançon, Châtillon-le-Duc, Miserey-Salines, Pouilley-les-Vignes, with photos of real jobs and a page describing how a quote works. I also handle website creation in Dijon for businesses that work across Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, and I can plan one page per city from the start rather than adding them later outside the plan. The business zones of Palente and Les Tilleroyes have their service companies too, and for them the site is first of all a calling card shown to other companies.
